In June 2022 there was the 50th anniversary of the passing of Jerzy Orda. Those who knew Jerzy Orda described him as "a citizen of Vilnius by choice", "an integral humanist", and "a paradoxical person". In the interwar period, Jerzy Orda called himself St. Augustine's inspired anarchist. The essence of anarchy, according to St. Augustine is simple: "Love and do what you want." The life of Orda, full of dramatic twists, offers the possibility to reflect on the limits of a person's freedom under totalitarian circumstances.
